Sun Today

I won't keep this up. I just love the sunny day after a huge snowstorm. That was my view as I drank my lovely mocha this morning and pondered the idiocy of Sarah Palin writing on her hand.

How I Will Spend My Summer Vacation

In my living room, 90+ degree weather on the way, I'm going to hunker down in the air conditioning.

Good News!

David Sirota tells me that Judd Gregg just withdrew his nomination for Commerce Secretary. I don't know more than that but if true, it is good.

(And he tweeted it. Which is why I know so soon. Yay Twitter.)

Do you think he will suddenly discover his ability to vote against the stimulus bill? I do.

This Is Totally Cool!

At first it looks like a fish-eye shot of the inauguration. But pan in. Anywhere. See if you can find George H.W. Bush and his amazing hat.

Have fun.

Donna Edwards

decisively won the primary fight for MD-4, unseating the long serving incumbent - 8 terms!! -- Al Wynn who was supported by Nancy Pelosi, Rahm Emanuel, and Steny Hoyer. YAY! It's a fine morning in spite of the layer of ice on everything. This is not my district but I did everything I could to to help her along. I am more than a little pleased to see a new person serving in that seat.

What is that you say? There is still the election in November? Piffle. This is a Democratic district. The winner of the Republican primary in this district has thus far garnered 3,577 votes. No, I'm not tempting fate. It's a done deal. Welcome Congresswoman Edwards. Life is good.
