Finish What You Start
We are getting mixed messages about cleaning up our mess in Iraq. On the one hand Jay Garner says ""We will be here as long as it takes. We will leave fairly rapidly." Several bloggers including Tapped have pointed to this Washington Post article which quotes a number of administration officials as expecting a hasty exit from Iraq.

In spite of continually pointing to the reconstruction of Germany after the second world war before the war started, the administration now seems to be trying to get out as quickly and inexpensively as possible. James Dobbins, a former assistant secretary of state who directs the International Security and Defense Policy Center at Rand Corporation is quoted as saying "We've done these things quickly, and we've done them well, but we've never done them quickly and well."

I'm sure the Kurds would echo that sentiment.
