Invasion as Prologue
I listen to right wing radio as I'm driving home from work. It makes me so angry that I forget what I was ruminating on when I left my place of employment, and it keeps me in touch with what the Bad Guys are up to. More and more I hear them refer to our little invasion of Iraq as the beginning of the real war.
Today Mr. Hannity was interviewing someone whose name I neglected to catch but who went on about how misinformed that leftish Mr. Wolfowitz is. According to Mr. Hannity's guest, our Paul keeps saying silly things like that we will allow the Iraquis to have a democratic form of government. Much handwringing ensued. You see if we allow such a thing they might elect a government that is not to our liking. They might even elect a fundamentalist dictator like Ayatollah Khomeini and then where would we be.
The conclusion was that after Iraq we will not only have to occupy the place for, say, a decade, but that then we will have to expand the war into Iran and wherever else is necessary. So they're finally getting comfortable with talking about their doctrine and plans in public. Apparently they think that the opposition isn't worth worrying about and that Our President is on the right track.
And didn't we just know it all along.
